Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account (email address, name, and a password if you sign up with one, or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google); content you upload or generate using our services (stories, scripts, reference images and other reference assets, voiceovers, images and videos); payment and subscription records (plan, amount, date and processor identifiers - never full card numbers, which are handled entirely by our payment processors); and technical and usage data such as IP address, approximate country, device and browser type, access times, pages viewed and features used.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and maintain our AI video generation services, process your content and generate videos, bill you and apply credit balances, provide support, keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse, improve service quality, communicate with you about your account and service updates, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your content to train AI models.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following bases: to perform our contract with you (creating your account, generating and delivering your videos, billing and support); our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, preventing fraud and abuse, understanding how the service is used so we can improve it, and communicating service updates), balanced against your rights and interests; your consent where we ask for it (for example analytics cookies or marketing emails), which you can withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting rules.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the platform: cloud hosting and database providers (Cloudflare, Supabase on AWS), payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), sign-in (Google), error monitoring (Sentry), and the AI model providers that generate your content. Requests to AI providers carry only the script text, scene descriptions and reference assets to be rendered, not your email address, IP address or other identifiers. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
5. International Data Transfers
Our primary servers and databases are located in the United States, and the providers listed above may process data in the United States or other countries. If you use the service from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your personal data will be transferred outside your region. Where we do so we rely on safeguards recognised under applicable law: European Commission adequacy decisions, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the receiving provider is certified under it, and otherwise the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where relevant), together with the security measures described below. You may contact us to request more information about these safeguards.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption in transit and at rest. Media files are stored under non-guessable keys in storage that cannot be listed or browsed, and your projects are visible only to your account unless you explicitly enable a share link. Access to production systems is restricted to authenticated administrators. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated content is stored according to your subscription plan. When you close your account we delete your data, except that we keep payment and invoicing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires and short-lived server and security logs for a limited period. You may delete projects at any time in the product and may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may download your videos at any time. To exercise any of these rights, or to close your account and request deletion of your data, contact support@storyintovideo.com. We respond within one month (extendable where the law allows for complex requests) and may ask you to verify your identity first. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request its deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a right to limit. You can exercise your rights by contacting support@storyintovideo.com, and you may designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are for users aged 18 and over and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age for consent to data processing). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics cookies to understand how our service is used. You can control cookie settings through your browser.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through our platform. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this privacy policy or our data practices, please contact us at support@storyintovideo.com.
