AI Story Writer

Give the AI story writer one sentence and it drafts a short story with a title, a hook and a real ending. Reading, editing and rewriting are free — and when the story is right, you can turn it into a narrated video.

01

Writers stuck on a blank page

Novelists, hobby writers and fan-fiction authors use the AI story writer for the rough first pass: a one-line premise becomes a complete short draft in the time it takes to refill a coffee. Then the real work begins — rewrite the ending, cut a character, push the tone darker. Some keep it as a writing exercise; others turn their favourite version into a video teaser for the longer project.

Teachers with a prompt and a class

Pick a short story prompt — or tap Surprise me for a random one — and the AI story writer drafts a model story to read and take apart together: where is the hook, where does it turn? Ask for simpler words for younger readers, or switch the language for a language class. When the story is ready, a narrated version with word-by-word subtitles lets the class read along.

Story channels on Shorts and TikTok

Story channels need a new story every day, and it has to grab people in the first line. The AI story writer is built around exactly that hook-build-payoff shape, at lengths that fit Shorts, Reels and TikTok. Write it, tighten it — and unlike an AI story generator that stops at text, turn the best ones into vertical 9:16 narrated videos with the same characters in every shot.

How the AI story writer works

From one line to a story you can read, fix and — if you want — watch.

01

Give it a spark

Type a premise, a character, a "what if" — or tap Surprise me for a random short story prompt. Paste a full draft instead and the AI story writer adapts it rather than starting over. Choose the length and the narration language in the wizard.

02

Read, edit, rewrite — free

The AI story writer returns a titled story with a hook, a build and a payoff, plus its cast. Edit any line, ask for a different direction, switch language or roll back to an earlier version. Nothing is charged at this stage.

03

Turn it into a video (optional)

Happy with the story? Pick a look and a voice, and Story Into Video illustrates each shot, narrates it, adds subtitles and music, and keeps the same characters from shot to shot. This is the step that uses credits.

Write it free. Make the video when it's ready.

The Write my story button opens the Story Into Video wizard with your idea already filled in. You pick a length, a look and a narrator voice, and the AI story writer drafts the story. Reading, editing, rewriting, the voiceover and the shot list cost nothing — free accounts can start three new stories a day.

When the story is right, press Generate video. Each shot is illustrated in your chosen look, narrated, given word-by-word subtitles and music, and cut into one video — 9:16 for phones or 16:9 for bigger screens. Most shots are illustrations with a slow camera move; animating a shot is optional and costs more. Rendering takes minutes, and new accounts get starter credits to try it.

What is an AI story writer?

An AI story writer, sometimes called an AI story generator, turns a premise into a finished story, so you are not left staring at a blank page. The AI story writer in Story Into Video is built for one kind of story in particular: the short story meant to be heard. Give it a single line — a lighthouse, a missing violin, a house that grows a room every night — and it writes a titled story with a hook in the first sentence, a build in the middle and a payoff at the end, plus a list of the characters who appear in it. It reads like something a narrator could perform, because that is exactly what this AI story writer writes for.

Everything the AI story writer produces stays editable. On the script page you can read the whole story, change any line or the title, or tell the AI story writer what to do next — "make the ending darker", "add a twist", "simpler words for an eight-year-old" — and it rewrites the draft. Switch the language and the story is rewritten in it, in any of dozens of narration languages. If a rewrite goes the wrong way, restore an earlier version. Ask for dialogue and the AI story writer writes a performed script instead, with lines for each speaking character. Already have a draft? Paste it (up to 10,000 words) and the AI story writer adapts it into speakable narration without inventing new plot.

Lengths are honest, and short. Free accounts choose Short (about 15–30 seconds read aloud), Standard (45–70 seconds) or Extended (90–120 seconds, roughly 270 words); members can also pick Deep dive (2–3 minutes) or a custom length of up to 160 shots. This is not a novel-length AI story writer, and it does not export Word or PDF files — your story lives in your project. What makes this AI story writer different is the next step: when you like the story, the same project turns it into a narrated video with illustrated shots, word-by-word subtitles and music. Writing is free; the video is the part that costs credits.

Who the AI story writer is for

People who want a finished short story — and maybe a video of it — not a chat window.

Fiction writers and hobbyists

Use the AI story writer to break a blank page, test one premise in five genres, or draft a scene you then rewrite in your own voice. Every version is kept, so experimenting costs nothing.

Teachers, parents and students

Turn a short story prompt into a model story, adjust the reading level with a one-line instruction, and show it as a narrated video with subtitles. The AI story writer works in dozens of languages, which helps in language classes too.

Story creators and faceless channels

Write a story with a hook every day, keep the characters consistent across a series, and publish narrated 9:16 videos. The AI story writer and the video tools share one project, so nothing is copied between apps.

AI story writer FAQ

Is the AI story writer free?

Writing is. You need a free account; after that, writing, editing and rewriting stories cost nothing, up to 3 new stories a day (20 with a subscription). Turning a story into a video uses credits, charged per illustrated shot, and new accounts start with some free credits.

How long are the stories?

Short by design, because they are written to be narrated. Free accounts can pick Short, Standard or Extended, up to about two minutes read aloud. Members can choose Deep dive (2–3 minutes) or a custom length of up to 160 shots, around 10–12 minutes. It is not built for full novels or long chapters.

Can I edit or rewrite what the AI story writer gives me?

Yes. Edit the title or any line directly, or type a direction such as "add a twist ending" and the AI story writer rewrites the draft. Free accounts get 5 rewrites per story a day, and earlier versions are kept so you can restore one.

Can I download the story as a document?

No. There is no Word, PDF or text export — the story stays in your project, where you can read and edit it. Once the video is made, the Script tab on the finished video has a Copy button for the narration.

Can I use my own story, or write in another language?

Yes to both. Paste a draft of up to 10,000 words and the AI story writer adapts it into narration without adding new plot. Pick from dozens of narration languages, or switch language later and the story is rewritten in it.
